We will discuss the initiatives taken by the state government to provide funding to encourage the development of key industries and create jobs and explain how it can influence your business.
DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL
Non-conforming product update
The Grenfell tower fire in London has raised public concerns about the condition of existing buildings in this country, in particular those that have been audited interstate and found to have non-confirming products. A number of steps have been implemented by both federal government and state government to help prevent catastrophic events occurring here. We will be presenting to you the actions our governments have undertaken over the last two years to protect the consumer and detail the checks that need to occur for builders to make building construction compliant.
SAFETY QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENT
DPTI outcome based safety culture
The Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) require all contractors who work for them to undertake a self-assessment prior to commencing work on site. DPTI perform an audit of the self-assessments and detail how safety measures should be implemented on site such as the requirement for contractors to provide a safety management plan. Our presentation will detail the self-assessment process, describe where the pitfalls exist and explain what action we are taking as an organisation to assist our members.
RETURN TO WORK
Early Intervention of injury management
Understanding the steps and processes required to maintain professional relationships with your employees is not only important in facilitating a productive workplace culture, but may also help reduce your ReturnToWorkSA premiums. Our presentation will highlight the importance of early intervention to reduce the affect workplace injuries has on your business.

The South Australian market for Building Indemnity Insurance is being consolidated under QBE from 1 July 2017. We will be presenting on what this means for residential builders, building indemnity insurance and the benefits MBA Insurance Services can offer.
