South Coast Constructions

The brief called for a cost effective design to replace the original home destroyed by fire. South Coast Constructions delivered a simple design, working within a tight budget, yet at the same time, produced a high quality finish to all areas of the home resulting in a very happy builder / client outcome.

Artisan Construct

The client owned an extremely difficult site with an architect’s design that would have daunted most builders. Artisan Construct responded by managing all aspects of the project including dealing with very steep slopes, water run-off, extremely tight access and demanding design challenges to produce a unique and high quality home within a very tight budget.

Scott Salisbury Homes

This home built on the Esplanade was impeccably constructed and finished to the highest standards. The site was very tight with the building occupying most of the block. Scott Salisbury Homes had limited access and no area for laying down building materials, which was exacerbated by the construction of a 2nd building to the rear at the same time. The builder overcame all these issues to provide an excellent building in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner.

Excellence in a Contract Home $1m to $2m

Finesse Built

Finesse Built faced many site challenges that precipitated significant and numerous changes to the structural design. The building fabric required the builder to install significant piers and structural steel more commonly found in commercial buildings. One such element was the installation of a 6m span precast concrete bridge from the road to the upper level of the building. A truly remarkable building project and a worthy award recipient.

Urban Habitats Australia

The complexity of the materials used in this building created difficulties for the team. However, they completed the works to a very high standard. The stonework and extensive timber elements in the building are a highlight and demonstrate the builder’s attention to detail. Their use of advanced software for estimating, project management and site safety supported the builder’s well grounded management systems in the delivery of this complex project in good time, excellent quality and in a safe manner.

Aria homes has delivered a beautiful and holistic example of a sustainable residential building. Achieving 8.1 stars by using the entire suite of correct passive design principles. Innovative design features were included to assist in cross ventilation and the site has the capacity to capture 22,500L of rainwater. Locally sourced materials were a priority and waste management on site was handled well by separating materials for recycling or re-use. An excellent example of what can be achieved with the right knowledge.

Excellence in Heritage Construction – Residential / Commercial

HSR (AUST) Group

Looking at both the Gouger and Grote Street facades the initial comment might be that it’s not evident that any work has been done, but that’s precisely the point of heritage restoration. Behind the scenes however the meticulous work necessary to repair, stabilise, reinstate and protect was extensive. Complexities of no power tools and exacting replacement of degraded material further reinforced the skills employed by HSR who scored highly on all fronts.
