This build by Finesse Built was distinguished from other worthy entrants by the difficulty of the site and the complexity of the building works. It comprised of innovative elements throughout and the use of unique materials and techniques to bring the clients vision to life. A focal point of the building is the extensive rammed earth walls that were impeccably presented as well as curved tiling in the wet area and open-ended gutters with rain heads to reduce the risk of box gutter flooding. A multifaceted home beautifully delivered by Finesse Built.

Klemm Homes

This contract home by Klemm Homes was a standout in this category due to the high-quality finishes achieved and the complexity of the elements that made up the building. It features off form concrete blade walls up to 6 metres high, an alfresco ceiling cantilevered 7 metres from the structure, several massive commercial style glass cavity sliding doors and the suspension of the substantial fireplace from the building structure. These elements would have daunted and been a test for any builder. A truly remarkable building project that is a worthy recipient of this award.

Scott Salisbury Homes

The client owned an extremely restricted hammerhead site in the heart of North Adelaide that brought added complexities to this build. Scott Salisbury Homes responded by ensuring a thorough consultative process from design to completion which delivered an exceptional house with a contemporary passive design utilising a selection of innovative materials to create a flexible and unique internal to external layout. The end result was a very satisfied client and builder outcome.

An extremely well-built home by Scott Salisbury Homes, in an exceptionally competitive market category and meeting a very specific and unique client brief. This build demonstrated how an industrial New York loft inspired home can be constructed using a wide range of materials to create a cohesive living environment while also complying with bushfire zone requirements of the area. Scott Salisbury Homes took extra care to suggest non-standard detailing in order to meet the client’s design preferences, and the level of communication prior to and during construction went above and beyond.

James Michael Homes

This home by James Michael Homes was brilliantly presented without fault. The classic styling sought after by the client both internally and externally added to the complexity of the building process. The finishes required precision workmanship and it was clear that the builder worked closely with the subcontractors to deliver the desired result. The client was delighted with the seamless delivery of the build and comfort that will be provided by this beautiful home, delivered at an affordable price.

Tribeca Property Group

Tribeca Property Group delivered a well-constructed contract home on a small allotment for under $300,000 with this build. The finishes and detailing inside and out were of a high standard and the use of recycled bricks to the front elevation was a clever selection and use of materials to elevate the front façade and generate street appeal. This contract home demonstrated the result of a close working relationship between the client and the builder throughout the construction process.

Normus Homes

This beautifully finished Normus Homes project features four custom townhouse homes that take pride of place within the streetscape of Tranmere. The use of Paloma Azul feature brick and Axon and Linear cladding on the façade of the buildings compliments the surrounding landscape. The judges were also impressed with the excellent internal finishes and fittings used which made this medium density project stand out from the competition.

Lightweight/Transportable Housing 

South Coast Constructions

The judges appreciated the high quality of external and internal finishes throughout this very personalised lightweight home by South Coast Constructions. Internal features and details were exceptional in key areas relating to the modern and functional kitchen, ensuite and off-bedroom robe. Environmental aspects were also impressive, including a polished floor slab in the living areas, window orientation to maximise sun penetration in winter and provision in place for future summer shading via a pergola.

Cook Building & Developments

Cook Building & Development provided the judges with an outstanding example of an affordable housing project. The innovation of the facade and structure that the Cook team devised, reduced the time frame and cost to allow the project to proceed.
