Peter Switzer – Main Speaker 

Peter Switzer is not only one of Australia’s leading business and financial commentators but also a successful businessman in his own right. Launched more than 20 years ago, The Switzer Group has grown into multiple successful companies spanning media and publishing,non-commission financial planning, home loans, a managed fund and business coaching.

Peter is an award-winning broadcaster, twice runner up for the Best Current Affairs Commentator award for radio which is not bad for a money man and a former lecturer in Economics at the University of NSW. Peter’s publishing business produces Harper’s BAZAAR. He is the founder and publisher of the Switzer Report for investors, the host of the Switzer Investing on the Switzer Financial Group YouTube channel. Peter is a business commentator for Sky News Breakfast & Economics expert for the Credlin TV program on Sky News as well as a regular contributor to Switzer Daily.

Theo Maras ( Founder & Chair, Maras Group)

Theo Maras is the founder and Chair of Maras Group, a privately owned and operated South Australian company, that has been at the forefront of commercial and retail property investment and development for more than 30 years.

He is an experienced business and community leader who has held important roles such as Past Chair of the Rundle Mall Management Authority and is the Acting Chair of the Adelaide Central Market Authority.

Theo is a genuine leader in the South Australian business community and his involvement with various organisations and personal philanthropic initiatives demonstrates his desire to give back to the community.

Bruce Djite- (CEO, Committee for Adelaide) 

Bruce Djite is a former Socceroo who has played football for clubs in several countries including, Turkey, China, South Korea and Indonesia.

Bruce is a current board member of the South Australian Multicultural Commission, the Australia Day Council of South Australia and the West Beach Trust Board.

Most recently, Bruce was Adelaide United Football Club’s Director of Football and is now the CEO of the Committee for Adelaide and a football analyst on Network 10 and Paramount+.

John Culshaw – (Founder, Culshaw Group)

John Culshaw founded the Culshaw Group of Companies in 1986 and has worked successfully in the Adelaide and South Australian property market for over three decades.

The Culshaw Group incorporates several properties across South Australia, including a restaurant and function facility at the Majestic Roof Garden Hotel in the City of Adelaide, and apartments in North Adelaide. Since their launch in 1986, the Majestic Hotels have won numerous tourism and hospitality awards, and they proudly support local businesses, employment, artists and other suppliers.

Mike Smithson – (MC & Panel Facilitator) 

Mike Smithson is a political reporter and presenter for Seven News in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. He has been a political reporter for Channel 7 News for the past 12 years. He also writes a weekly analysis column for the Sunday Mail newspaper and appears every Friday on ABC radio’s popular ‘spin cycle’ segment. Mike has also been a 7 Network foreign correspondent covering the hotspots of Europe, a news presenter and was also awarded South Australia’s Journalist of the Year 2006.

Some of his biggest reporting stories have included the infamous Skase Chase, the 2000 Summer Olympics and the War on Terror in Afghanistan. In 2007, Mike Smithson won 3 awards at the SA Media Awards: the inaugural award for Commentary, Analysis, Opinion & Critique for his work with the Sunday Mail, Best TV news report and the prestigious title of Journalist of the Year. Mike has a warm and witty style as a speaker or MC which wins over audiences.
