This nationally recognised course provides participants with the knowledge and practical skills required to recognise and respond to a range of first aid emergencies.
Training is delivered in accordance with current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical bodies. Participants learn how to assess emergency situations, provide immediate first aid treatment, and support a casualty until medical assistance arrives.
The course combines theory and practical training to ensure participants can apply their skills in workplace and community settings.

Certificate Renewal Requirements:
The industry recommends that HLTAID011 Provide First Aid be renewed every three years. The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that CPR skills be refreshed annually through HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

Entry Requirements:
To undertake this course, participants must:

- Provide valid photo identification.

- Have the physical capability to perform CPR on the floor.

- Demonstrate sufficient language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills to complete training and assessment activities.

- Participate in practical scenarios and assessment tasks.
-
- Have access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with internet access if completing online pre-course learning.
Participants should be able to read and understand instructions, communicate effectively during training and assessment, complete basic workplace documentation, and access online learning materials where required.
Important: To be eligible for an accredited certificate, participants must successfully perform CPR on an adult mannequin placed on the floor. This is a mandatory assessment requirement, and no exemptions can be granted.
