Master Builders SA legally employs apprentices before hosting them out to compliant Host Employers. We are responsible to ensure all apprentices are provided with the opportunity to learn their chosen trade and are provided with both on-the-job and off-the-job training.

What are the benefits of being a Host Employer? Master Builders SA place apprentices with Hosts according to work demand. This provides Host Employers with the flexibility of being able to return apprentices during lull times or when there is a shortage of materials. Host Employers are only charged for the time the apprentice is onsite, meaning as a Host Employer, you are not charged for time at trade school, superannuation, annual and sick leave, RDO’s and PPE to name a few. Host Employers can request additional apprentices during larger jobs or peak times.

Why choose Master Builders SA for apprentices? All potential Master Builders SA apprentices are required to have their driver’s licence and own transport prior to applying. Potential apprentices are required to successfully pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test prior to commencement. Random drug and alcohol tests will continue during the apprentice’s four-year term. All apprentices are supplied with uniform and PPE and have the option of purchasing a tool kit relevant to their chosen trade prior to their first placement. Master Builders SA Field Coordinators work closely with all host employers and apprentices providing mentoring support to both to ensure apprenticeship progression and successful completion.
