Congratulations Matthew Cotterill

Apprentice of the Month – August 2020

Trade: Certificate III in Carpentry

Stage of apprenticeship: 1st year

Commencement date: May 2020

Expected completion date: May 2024

Why did you become an apprentice?

To get a stable career behind me. Getting the Carpentry qualification would look good on a resume for any potential pathways or careers I may decide to pursue in the future.

What do you enjoy most about your apprenticeship?

I love working outdoors, taking on different tasks each day, good life skills/knowledge that I gain, and it’s a great opportunity to build new friendships/connections.

Would you recommend Master Builders SA apprenticeships to others and why?

Yes, I would. MBA is a well-established organisation which offers a wide range of support and opportunities for all ages and cultural backgrounds. They are supportive and reliable in terms of asking questions and getting help/feedback.

Field Coordinator’s comments:

Matt is currently in the 1st year of his Carpentry Apprenticeship hosted out with MacBuild. Matt has worked on many projects undertaking multiple tasks from first-fix carpentry to maintenance work.

Vaughan Noonan from MacBuild is very impressed with Matt’s efforts and had no hesitation in giving him a nomination for Apprentice of the month. Congratulations Matt, keep up the great work
