Who this is for?

Builders, site managers, and supervisors responsible for planning and coordinating construction projects.

Plan projects with confidence and deliver jobs on time and on budget.

This nationally recognised unit of competency provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to effectively plan and coordinate building and construction work.

It is recognised by Consumer and Business Services (CBS) as meeting part of the training requirements for a Building Contractor’s Licence, including work involving residential building, alterations, and transportable construction.

The course is delivered in an intensive format over two evenings, allowing participants to meet mandatory requirements efficiently while developing practical planning and project coordination skills.

TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:

Reviewing contract documentation to identify operational requirements
Planning and implementing construction activities
Preparing project schedules and timelines
Determining labour, materials, and resource requirements
Preparing and submitting condition reports
Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
Understanding roles and responsibilities across the project team
Assessing supply chain capability and pre-qualification requirements
Introduction to Building Information Modelling (BIM) principles

PREREQUISITES:
Participants should have relevant construction industry experience and a suitable level of literacy and numeracy.

DURATION:
2 x 3-hour evening sessions, plus additional reading and assessment activities.
