This practical course covers the requirements of AS 4440 – Installation of Nailplated Timber Roof Trusses, manufacturer specifications and relevant South Australian building approval and inspection requirements.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, participants will have a practical understanding of:

• The correct storage, handling and installation of timber roof trusses
• The bracing, connection and construction requirements contained within AS 4440
• How to interpret and apply roof and floor truss manufacturers’ specifications
• The development approval, mandatory notification and inspection requirements that may apply during construction
• Appropriate storage, handling and erection procedures for steel-framed roof trusses
• How to identify and address common roof truss installation issues
