1st May – Interview with the industry experts
The first Build Your Business webinar session interviewed our panel of experts from the finance, legal and business sectors answer the BIG questions about our current situation, with COVID-19.
8th May – Industry Forecasts
Will Frogley, Director of Policy and Communications at Master Builders SA joined us for our second session to discuss the recently released industry forecasts and the impact COVID-19 has had on our industry and how we are lobbying the government for additional stimulus.
15th May – Industrial Relations, Redundancies, etc
While restrictions started to ease in SA around COVID-19, there is still a lot of uncertainty and questions about the road to recovery. To assist our members, we were joined by Director of Workplace Relations Sam Condon who will provide a brief overview of the effect of COVID-19 on the workplace relations system and what this has meant for employers managing their staff. In particular, Sam discuss the requirements for a ‘genuine redundancy’ under the Fair Work Act 2009, as well as other possible options for businesses to manage employees during downturns in work.
22nd May – Social Media – Dos & Don’ts
Times have been tough, but now is not the time to be silent in your social media channels with people online more than ever, that was the message for our members in our fourth session. Members learnt about the do’s and don’ts of social media during COVID-19 from leading social media strategist Tamara Caire of Social Media AOK.
29TH May – DPTI – Future Building Projects & Master Builders SA Stimulus Measures
In our final session, we heard from Ben Hogarth, Director of Building Projects at DPTI on upcoming projects you can get involved in and Will Frogley from Master Builders who outlined the Association’s 5 stimulus packages put to the Federal and State Governments.
